Documentation of the PEG tube in the “ALS app” is important for medical and scientific reasons. It is recorded using the ALS function scale in the ALS app (question 3, answer 1 and 0). This indicates the presence of a PEG tube. Sharing this information is particularly important as several doctors, medical facilities and care providers are usually involved in the care of an ALS patient.

The shared access of the various doctors to the data in the ALS app (via the app’s connection to the outpatient partner care platform) means that the installation of a PEG tube can be communicated in this way and the status of the information can be compared.
