How should the Riluzole melting film be used?
The Riluzole melting film (EMYLIF) is a small, thin platelet that is placed on the tongue, palate or oral mucosa. The platelet sticks there and dissolves immediately. The riluzole contained in the enamel film is immediately absorbed by the saliva and can be swallowed very easily. This pain relief tablet is also taken twice a day. Each analgesic tablet contains 50 mg riluzole. This melting film is the most suitable riluzole if the swallowing function is altered and/or there are difficulties in taking the tablets.
A typical side effect is a temporary numbness in the mouth, which is comparable to the anesthetic feeling after a visit to the dentist. The effect varies greatly from person to person, lasts a few minutes and is not considered critical.
