“Changing position and location despite severe weakness of the arms and legs”

Background
In the case of severe muscle weakness or spasticity, a patient’s ability to change position and location (transfer) is limited or impossible. Furthermore, the transfer is associated with high physical strain for the caregivers. Various transfer and lift systems are available for transfers from bed to wheelchair or from the living area to the sanitary area (sliding boards, bathtub lifts, mobile transfer lifts, ceiling lifts, stair lifts, wheelchair lifts). The planning, selection and installation is carried out by aid experts in collaboration with neurologists, other doctors and physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
