What dosage forms of Riluzole are available?

With the film-coated tablet, the melting film and a suspension, there are 3 Riluzole dosage forms available, the use of which is decided on an individual basis. The dosage form may change during the course of the disease.

Taking a tablet is therefore preferable if there is no swallowing disorder. If a swallowing disorder begins, the melting film and the suspension can be considered. If a PEG is present, the suspension should always be used. Riluzole is taken twice daily (morning and evening). Each tablet contains 50 mg. The total dose is 100 mg per day (two film-coated tablets). Specially developed dosage forms are available for patients with dysphagia – riluzole melt film (EMYLIF) and riluzole suspension (Teglutik®).
